A New Playground for Main Arm Public School

Main Arm Upper Public School

Built in 1927 Main Arm Upper Public School was built nestled in the hills of Mullumbimby, just north west of Byron Bay. The school is well known in the area for their colourful tie dyed uniforms and intimate class sizes but what many don’t know is their playground is 20 over years old. The play equipment is so old that it is not only unusable for the children but unsafe as well. The school is seeking funding to build a new playground for their students so we asked ourselves, “What’s a school with no playground? What can we do to help?”

Cocktails for Charity

The team at Balcony Bar & Oyster Co. have decided to donate $1 from every Cocktail of the Month sold for the month of January to Main Arm Upper Public School’s playground fund. Not one to disappoint, our Bar Manager and mixologist Bennett created the cocktail Alexander the Grapefruit named after one of our past bartenders Ryan Alexander. It’s a ripper of a cocktail featuring Tanqueray 10, triple sec, lemon juice, grapefruit juice, agave & bitters. It tastes like a grapefruit margarita.
